I think having a consistent routine is so important, it allows the children to focus on learning instead of a chaotic environment in which they do not know what is happening next.

I think its very important to have a safe, cozy, and quiet area for when children may be upset, overstimulated, or just need a break.

I also find areas for pretend play/role play to be important, such as areas with dress up opportunities and props, as this is an important way children learn and process through playing.

Free creative play areas are also important such as an area for wooden blocks children can freely build and create with.

These are just a few of many important components and areas.

A good early learning environment includes developmentally appropriate play area/toys, a clean space, and not a lot of clutter. Everything has a purpose for helping the child feel welcome and happy.

I think having a cozy/quiet area is especially important for kids who can get easily overwhelmed or overstimulated by common classroom activities, it can help them build their self-regulation skills and feel safe in the classroom.

I think it’s important for spaces to have child-sized furnishings, be welcoming, inviting, and have clear centers with seperation.

creating an environment where children feel welcomed is something that should be important in every classroom setting as a care giver. Allowing things to be on the child’s level will make them feel more comfortable within the class room. Making sure there is a nurturing aspect is also something to focus on.

I believe that is very important for everything in the environment to be at the child’s height. The environment should be clean, beautiful, warm, and welcoming. There should be specific areas of the classroom for specific learning areas such as reading, math, sensorial, etc.

I believe a good thing to have in the early learning environment is a calm down area where a child can go to calm down and take a minute to themself.

I think a welcoming, warm, safe environment is huge when creating a classroom community. In order for the children to feel as comfortable in order to learn and thrive. I also think it is important for things to be developmentally appropriate for the children in that area.

I think it is important that it is not too full with colors and toys. It needs to be interesting and stimulating but not overwhelming and chaotic.

  • A safe classroom with basic equipment, center materials, storage, traffic paths and clear views for adults. The learning centers must be inviting to a child. One of my favorite areas are Dramatic play, Art Center and a Quite cozy area with tons of books.

A beneficial learning environment that will help a child learn and grow and feel welcomed into the classroom is one of the best ways of motivating a student into the classroom. Allowing the classroom to have sections, or separate rooms, for exclusive comfort to calm down, activities, storage, etc. will be beneficial for a classroom.
