1. Which WACs address diversity and collaboration with families?
2. What big messages do the WACs give regarding diversity and collaboration?
1 WAC 110-300-0160 addresses discusses promoting acceptance of diversity. This explains how the teacher should provide materials that represent different types of racial, ethnic backgrounds and reduce behaviors that show biased behavior or disrespect.
2 The WACs provide the message that classrooms are welcoming environments for everyone. The teacher set rules that allows everyone to be involved and be heard and discourages any behavior that discriminates against children and their families. Diverse classrooms provide students, families, and staff to share differences and learn from them in positive ways.

I think that the environment needs to be very welcoming, calming, and enjoyable for all children. There needs to be toys and other objects that are age-appropriate for each child and fun for them too. It needs to be organized to a certain degree because children can get overstimulated fairly quickly.

The components of a good early learning environment include staff observing and following
the child’s lead as much as possible, create a routine best suited for the children in that class,
and giving children a choice.

The environment is crucial. Children desire and need to feel secure, just as they are at home. It’s crucial to arrange the space in a welcoming, cozy manner that encourages learning.
-
Learning environments must be safe engaging spaces for children to learn an interact with. Good learning environments are nurturing. This means that they have a variety of tools, and equipment that children can use to learn. These areas of the center or classroom should allow development and growth of the domains including physical, cognitive, emotional, and social. This could include having a soft cozy corner for children who want space, books, and spaces where children can interact with others. Also having developmentally appropriate set up allows children to be safe and encourages independence.

A clean, organized environment where the children are happy to come each day. Where they can feel welcomed and inspired.

I think it is especially important for the environment to be clean and safe, as well as welcomed and supported.

I think catered to the children. It should be bright, clean, and encourage their creativity. Everything they use should be their height. It should be a safe and fun place. You need caring and attentive childcare workers that are able to talk to and get on the child’s level. They need activities that promote their development and learning.

The biggest components of a good early learning environment are being nurturing, having positive communication with everyone including other staff, and teamwork in and out of the classroom.

Having a positive, nurturing ,safe space for the children to learn and grow.

Are there any components of a good early learning environment that you think is especially important?
– I think one incredibly important aspect of an early learning environment is that it is known as a warm, welcoming, and accepting place.

a place of inspirational and calm learn area, sometimes I think a quiet area for the child to relax and feel comfortable before he/she interacts with other children or staff. I like having music and interactive touch screen with learning actives that promote learning and listing for key words. I think children who are going into kindergarten should have stations that prepare them for writing activities/ too many preschools have just free play and tell parents that a child is learning by playing with legos. Academic learning can be done with thoughtful and meaningful lesson plans. step by step.
