MemberDecember 11, 2023 at 3:08 amMy biggest worry is not knowing what each day will bring. Sickness can spread easily, a child can get hurt during play time, or an emergency closure due to weather. We can’t predict what each day bring, so I try to practice safety and healthy daily.

MemberDecember 11, 2023 at 6:38 amMy biggest worry for keeping kids healthy and safe is how quickly things are changing nowadays. With technology advancing, how children play and learn has shifted a lot. Balancing their exploration and ensuring safety in this fast-paced environment is a big concern. We need to stay watchful, adjust our approaches, and keep talking with parents to handle new challenges and make sure the kids stay safe and well.

Cultural exposure, for example internet or idealities a child is not ready to learn about because of where they are at developmentally.

MemberDecember 18, 2023 at 1:52 amMy biggest worry is keeping children physically safe from accidents and outside forces. I grew up a chicken and a worry wart, and some kids are fearless. Caregiver intervention is a necessity but mistakes and accidents always happen. I know I would feel guilt no matter what. Or keeping them safe from outside sources. Thankfully, we have little to no digital access at my center, but a few children have brought in some hateful ideas with them from their home computers.

My biggest concern is that no matter how prepared and trained I am, I will be presented with a situation that is beyond my knowledge and I will not be able to keep the children healthy and safe.

My biggest worry is the child will get hurt while in my care and i won’t be able to help them properly because i’m too scared i’ll hurt them more.

MemberDecember 25, 2023 at 5:17 amMy biggest worry is the unpredictableness of children’s behavior and health. Anything could happen at any time that could cause them harm, either because they don’t know better, they do things seemingly without reason, etc. I am most interested in learning about what I can do to minimize the chances of anything bad happening.

What are you most interested in learning?
My biggest worry with keeping children healthy and safe is how much anxiety children have been getting from the world and outside factors. I am interested in learning on how we as educators can help calm those and find tactics for those anxious children.

Accidents and Injuries: Children, especially in their early years, are prone to accidents and injuries. This could occur at home, in childcare settings, or during play.
Health and Well-being: Maintaining overall health, including physical, mental, and emotional well-being, is crucial for children’s development. Nutrition, exercise, and access to appropriate healthcare play essential roles.
Emergencies and Preparedness: Being prepared for emergencies, including natural disasters or health-related crises, is a common concern. Having plans in place for evacuation, first aid, and communication is crucial.

My biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe is ensuring that they stay safe on the internet, especially since so many children have unrestricted internet access. There are so many dangerous things online that children are exposed to, and I think that safeguarding them from those dangers is extremely important.
