MemberDecember 28, 2023 at 4:18 amMy Biggest worry about keeping children safe and healthy is making sure to know their allergies and other things when it comes to meal peperation. Some parents might bring in packeged food for their children but some might rely on the daycare to feed their children. Also contamination (feeding multiple at once) and making sure to be clean and healthy about which one has food allergies and which do not.

MemberDecember 29, 2023 at 3:47 amMy biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe is the potential for accidents or illnesses that can occur despite precautions. What I’m most interested in learning is effective strategies for illness prevention and emergency response in an early learning environment to ensure every child’s health and safety is protected.

MemberDecember 30, 2023 at 10:57 pmmy biggest fear is a child getting injured under my supervision, it can be challenging keeping them from getting hurt specially when we have outside time.
I also agree with everyone else, school shootings are a big fear everywhere. we recently experienced a high school closure for a day two blocks away from our center because of a shooting threat. We made sure to be in the look out for any suspicious activity around our center, thankfully nothing happen.

my biggest concern is illness during the pandemic we were so strict about illness and not allowing sick children to enter the space i fear we have reverted back to old standards and seeing an uptick of sick children and staff sick children struggle to learn and say focused and sick staff struggle to teach
depending on which illness it can have devastating long term effects especially with rsv and newborns

I worry that external situations that are out of the care centers concern such as a kidnapping may occur.

MemberJanuary 10, 2024 at 5:23 pmMy biggest worries while caring for children would be my own inability to prepare them for the qualities of this world. With violence and shootings, political debates, an equity and equality issues, I find it’s very challenging to prepare kids to enter a world that’s cruel and harsh when all they’ve ever known is play and learn

Illness and Infectious Diseases: Preventing the spread of illnesses and managing infectious diseases within a childcare setting is a common concern.
-
Accidents and Injuries: Ensuring a safe environment to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries is a top priority.
-
Nutrition and Physical Activity: Providing balanced nutrition and promoting physical activity are concerns for supporting overall health.
-
Supervision and Security: Maintaining adequate supervision and implementing security measures to prevent unauthorized access are important for child safety.
-
Emergency Preparedness: Being prepared for emergencies, such as natural disasters or medical emergencies, is crucial.
These concerns highlight the importance of implementing health and safety protocols in childcare settings.

MemberJanuary 11, 2024 at 3:30 pmI think my biggest worry is emotional well being and the the impacts I, and other adults, have on children’s development. What I mean by this specifically is that teachers are people to and we have bad days. That said, an educators job is to not have this bad day effect their work, since when it does it can have negative impacts on the children. I worry that I will miss things happening in a kids life under the surface and that they will suffer because of that. I worry that the while i’m still learning best practices, there might be things that I do that have negative impacts even though that’s never my goal.

MemberJanuary 11, 2024 at 5:51 pmMy biggest worry is… I don’t know! I think my biggest worry is that something will happen to set off my PTSD and I will somehow be a harmful person for kids to be around. I have always been vigilant in making sure I am calm and collected in classrooms, but I worry about it never the less.

MemberJanuary 11, 2024 at 9:50 pmmy biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe is not having the ability to protect them from everything. Safeguarding kids from online and offline abuse, neglect, and exposure to dangerous conditions, although we can all do our best to protect the children I know it wont be 100%.
