Keeping children healthy and safe

I think my biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe is when they often will not listen to warnings, or when they go and do something even when they are told not to just because they are naturally curious about things, or sometimes mischievous, and I would love to learn techniques on how to prevent them from doing things they aren’t supposed to.

It’s hard knowing that anything could happen to a child throughout the day and as the caregiver at the time I am responsible. However, knowing the basics of how to keep children safe in emergency situations and constantly reviewing them and providing safe practices will allow me to be prepared and ready to step in to any situation.

What is your biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe?

My biggest worry when it comes to children’s health and safety is the internet and social media. Also, unfortunately, I worry every day about a school shooting/gun violence.

My biggest worry when it comes to the safety of the child is that I might not be able to do enough. Even if I report something and do everything I can to make a situation safer or environment safer it may still not be enough to keep that child safe. When it comes to bigger issues such as shootings I would just be worried that even if I put myself in harms way it also would not be enough to keep the kids safe.

I am most interested in learning about how we as care providers can keep kids safe when in our care. And how to handle situations that might seem out of our hands that deal with children’s safety.

My biggest worry about keeping children safe involves school shootings, internet safety, and strangers who are harmful to children.

I work in a toddler class so I am always worried about the kids getting hurt or hurting a classmate when my back is turned or not paying attention.

I think my biggest worry about keeping children safe is their individual needs, and conflicts with each other. Its been difficult dealing with kids who either have issues with each other that lead to further conflict, or have issues with their families having conflicts with each other. I think trying to make it a safe space for everyone is the most important thing we can do, but also there are a lot of factors to consider when choosing the best practices.

My biggest concern as a childcare provider is keeping children safe and healthy. Making sure they’re in safe spaces, supervising them well, and promoting healthy habits like eating well and staying clean.

Ya que hay mucha inseguridad tanto en los colegios como en nuestra propias casa es difícil dejar a nuestro hijos en cuidado de personas que no te general una seguridad total.

It’s also important for your children to eat a healthy diet, get plenty of sleep and stay current on their vaccinations to help fend off illness-causing organisms. Keep your children at home if they have symptoms, including fever, cough, sore throat or rashes.

I worry about children falling, and harming themselves at recess, or getting sick. We follow all Wa state laws regarding chemicals. Our chemicals are all locked up or placed up high, too high for small hands to reach. We also use the three step wash, rinse, bleach for all tables and desks, which is safer for our students.
