it feels like in this current environment, there is some form of danger to our children from all sides.

The internet being an open access point for harmful people and ideologies, The rising statistics on home abuse, the observable shift in education quality, not to mention just in the open and how easliy accesable everyone is.

the greatest fear i have personally is everyday exposure kids have to material that is far to mature for them through tv, internet, music, and even older siblings because theres very little that can be done to protect them without drastic measures which can be harmful themselves.

Over the last couple of years, we have seen children enrolled that have greater needs due to trauma, mental health, and special needs. This has been more challenging for teachers as sometimes we have kids acting out without any pre-warning signs, hurting other children or staff, throwing things, etc. We have a non-expulsion policy in our program which I support, however it has been difficult to hire staff and/or find time to provide comprehensive training of staff within the calendar/budget.

I can’t even narrow my fears down to one, due to the current state of our country. We have to worry about accidental overdoses of disguised candies, gun violence/school shootings, internet safety, bullying and grooming. I could honestly go on, there are many fears outside of my control that I am concerned about.

Similar to most people who work with children, the biggest fears are things that are out of our control – active shooters, predators, general emergencies, etc. We prepare as best we can and practice with children so they’re aware, but there’s still a lot of unpredictability because safety involves people. People are variable and can be unknown.

My biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe is when there are children within the class that risk the safety of other students.

My biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe is ensuring they have access to comprehensive and continuous healthcare, which includes physical, mental, and emotional well-being. With the rise in chronic diseases, mental health issues, and the impacts of technology on physical activity and social interactions, it’s crucial to address these areas holistically. Additionally, environmental factors such as pollution and climate change pose new risks. Discussing these concerns with peers in a community forum can help share effective strategies, resources, and support systems to better protect and nurture children’s overall health and safety

My biggest concern is being responsible for the injuries or pain of a child due to my lack of skills or not paying attention.

I think my biggest fear is not being the kind of teacher they need. I want to make sure that I dont hinder their learning or their development. I want to protect them from harm if it comes to it. I think I also worry about making sure they have a safe, loving and welcome space when they are being cared for.

my biggest fear is not seeing something when it happens, or a child hiding somewhere or losing a child. but I know with proper help and plans and vigilance I can prevent that from happening.

A significant concern in keeping children healthy and safe involves ensuring they have access to nutritious food, regular exercise, and medical care for their physical well-being. It’s also crucial to support their mental and emotional health, given the pressures they face today. Protecting them from physical harm, whether at home, school, or in the community, is essential. Providing a safe learning environment and managing their use of technology to prevent exposure to inappropriate content and cyberbullying is also vital. Finally, ensuring they grow up in clean and safe environments free from pollution and hazards is critical for their overall well-being.

My biggest worry about keeping children safe is that when they do physical activities sometimes children can get rough with each other. Also ensuring that they don’t improperly use equipment, so they do not hurt themselves because they used something a way that was unintended.

My biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe is factors that are out of my control like interest usage, gun violence, and predators.

I am most interested in learning how to make education meaningful and safe despite these outside factors.

My biggest worry about keeping the children safe is forgetting something or not noticing something quick enough due to human error.
