MemberSeptember 10, 2024 at 5:02 amNot being aware of situations that could harm a child unintentionally. Lacking awareness or even “common” sense that could lead to a child potentially be put or experience a harmful result. I am interested in all the big and little ways I can keep a child safe and will not be surprised if there are a few I never even consider could be a safety problem for children but will gratefully learn and establish those in my work environment.

My biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe involves both the environment and their food. Ensuring a clean and safe environment is crucial, as it minimizes the risk of accidents and helps maintain overall well-being. When it comes to food, it’s important to provide nutritious, allergy-safe meals while maintaining proper hygiene to prevent foodborne illnesses. This means being aware of any food allergies, offering a balanced diet, and practicing safe food handling and preparation. By addressing both the environment and food, we can better support children’s health and safety.

Choking hazards is my worst fear. Toys, materials, or foods are some dangerous things for infant, toddlers and preschoolers.

One of my biggest worry about keeping children safe, is us as teachers do not feel the support and safety from school when it comes to protection against guns.

My biggest worry is that I can’t keep my eyes on them all the time. Sometimes children get injured when I turn around for a few seconds and I didn’t see what happened. Sometimes I am concerned with their safety when I know there is a child with behavior issues present who is prone to violent outburst but what I can do is limited. I don’t want to injure or put my self in harms way but at the same time, have to protect all my children as well the child with behavior issues.

MemberSeptember 16, 2024 at 3:51 pmMy biggest worry in child care is intruders. While I know the front desk is good about filtering out people who should and shouldn’t be at the school, it doesn’t change the fact that if someone wanted to they could hop the fence or force entry with a weapon. I worry for the students, staff and my safety.

I am worried about something happening to their health and not knowing what to do

Protecting children from school shootings, predatory behavior, etc.
I’m interested to see how we can prevent this from happening.

I agree with many of the responses here that talk about school shootings. This is my biggest fear as well as it has become so frequent.
