    1. A multicultural education curriculum should be in place in every school.
    2. Strongly agree, with culture including those from different underrepresented ethnic minorities, age-appropriate gender/LGBTQ+ information, language barrier breakdowns, and SES background neutrality.

    3. Families should not be expected to be involved in classroom activities.
    4. Neither agree nor disagree, many families cannot be involved in classroom activities due to work schedules, lack of transportation, lack of funding, and possibly other children that take up time and resources. Parent/family participation should always be GREATLY encouraged but families should never feel guilt or shame when they cannot attend certain classroom activities.

    5. All learning programs should accommodate all children with special needs.
    6. Slightly agree, while I think all programs should try to accommodate as many children as they can, with as much disability access as that facility can afford, I will not say 100% agree. This is because certain children with disabilities need more support, fewer classmates, specialized environments, or a personalized curriculum to thrive, and I do not think it is fair to put them in a place where they will struggle.

    7. Some extended family members may confuse children, so they should not have a voice in raising or educating the child.
    8. Slightly disagree, while I think education and familial bonding are both important, depending on the specific child’s situation, I think the family should always try to be involved. For example, a child whose uncle mispronounces a new word has no bad intention and should work with teachers to accurately facilitate the child. However, if that uncle was purposefully teaching a child incorrect information and hindering their growth, they could be doing irreversible harm which should not be encouraged.

    9. My curriculum should be based on each individual child’s current interests.
    10. Slightly disagree, to facilitate children hitting developmental milestones while also keeping engagement, a base-level curriculum must be written and taught. However, examples, activities, or break times should always include interests the children hold. This both keeps engagement and facilitates learning but it also makes sure that a love of knowledge stays intrinsic to all the children in your program.

    11. Diversity definitely includes race and culture, but doesn’t include age, ability or family make-up.
    12. Strongly disagree, diversity includes race, culture, age, ability, family makeup, and so many more things!

    13. Media in general delivers fair and accurate accounts of events around the country.
    14. Neither agree nor disagree, media accuracy, actuality, and fairness heavily depend on where one is looking online and who the source of information is. Caution, looking at several sources, taking all information with a grain of salt, and relying on experts will likely result in the most accurate information.

    15. The United States should discontinue relations with countries that engage in human rights violations.
    16. Strongly agree, I agree that we should not associate ourselves with any nation enacting extreme violence and human rights violations.

Do we ever change our views? I believe views are constantly changing and adapting to new things we learn and new ways we are being influenced by things around us.

What kinds of things influence us to change our perspective? I think children they are influenced by the adults in there lives heavily. As an adult, social media and hands-on experience are huge things that change my perspective on any topic.

Reflect on the ways people respond to one another when points of view differ. Do we ever change our views? Respect is key here. We may differ in opinions or perspectives, but should be respectful and attempt to shift the angle at which we look at a given subject. We can absolutely change our views, over time.

What kinds of things influence us to change our perspective? I think life experiences, new exposure, education, and practicing non-judgment can lead us to change our perspectives. Additionally, reflecting on our own past experiences, encounters, and upbringing and reframing certain mental models can help us to adjust how we view specific situations and the world more broadly.

    1. A multicultural education curriculum should be in place in every school. Yes, absolutely.
    2. Families should not be expected to be involved in classroom activities. Agreed. Families can be as involved as they want to be, but teachers should help facilitate and encourage involvement in whatever capacity makes sense for each individual family.
    3. All learning programs should accommodate all children with special needs. No, there are some programs that may not be able to facilitate the appropriate care and education that children with some unique needs may have. These children are best suited in programs that can support them holistically.
    4. Some extended family members may confuse children, so they should not have a voice in raising or educating the child. It is up to the family’s discretion.
    5. My curriculum should be based on each individual child’s current interests. It depends. I think a curriculum can be developed based upon a child’s individual interests, but some children need more structure. A curriculum should be set up for different types of learners and personalitis.
    6. Diversity definitely includes race and culture, but doesn’t include age, ability or family make-up. False, diversity includes all of these factors and more,.
    7. Media in general delivers fair and accurate accounts of events around the country. False. Not all media depicts factual information.
    8. The United States should discontinue relations with countries that engage in human rights violations. There are likely opportunities for intervention, support, and education.

with the diversity we have put out in this society it can be viewed as a beautiful thing, but as we look at it in away of having a hard time connecting it will be more difficult to relate to one another because it has shown a hard time fitting in in which I would try to make him feel in comfort by making him feel safe and at home in a community we endorese

Create a list of things that influence your thinking or point of view. (Answers might include things like family, religious beliefs, media, education, peers or political affiliation.)

Life experiences, media, friends, family, political affiliation, race, and culture.

Reflect on the ways people respond to one another when points of view differ. Do we ever change our views? What kinds of things influence us to change our perspective?

I believe we do change our views on certain topics, this is because as we grow older we often learn more information and perspectives that may change our beliefs. There are many things that can influence us to change our perspective such as getting educated, seeing the news, learning about different perspectives, and our life experiences.
