This is one of my favorite part of being a child care provider. I love interact with them doing fun activities such as, pretending play ( restaurants, hospital), sing and dance along, I created a game called : “Quite game”, during lunch time, where children must be quite for 1 or 2 minutes…they love it, and for reward we give stickers and high fives. Hot potato is also a very popular one. Another game that I invented is called: Sharks and Snacks, we are at playground area, all the children line up and I ask them which snack they are going to be…I get answers like ( carrots, cake, spicy pizza…) them I say that I am a shark and I am hungry for snacks…so I Iet than run and I try to tag them ” eat my snack”. On a swing tire I play rock ship and every time I push them I pretend to point to a planet ( Mars, look the moon). I change themes…saying: Let’s go go the Zoo…n called animals, let’s go to Hawaii .

Using songs with movement throughout the day as well as during transition periods can help create a fun, developmentally appropriate, and physical active classroom.

Songs or rhyming games that involve actions are a great attention grabber and most kids enjoy them both, especially when the teachers are actively involved

For creating a developmentally active fun environment for children :
~ Provide them with the right kind of activities like play area which have mountain climbing walls, monkery bars, slides, which encourages them to voe arounf jump
~ splash day – Water play can be fun for kids. This gives an opportunity kids to be physically active while having fun
~ Indoor auditorium /play are – On rainy, snowy days, kids tends to be indoors restricting them opportunity to be physically active which is necessary for them. Indoor play areas can be helpful
~ Songs and dancing on with them. Some songs has lyrics which encourages them be physically active in a fun way like “Bend and touch your toes” “go around and touch your head”

I believe the initial set up of the classroom, daily schedule, and planned activities all promote <b style=”background-color: var(–bb-content-background-color); font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”>creating a developmentally appropriate, fun, and physically active classroom. This could be through music, singing, dancing, and movement activities.

MemberSeptember 13, 2023 at 8:42 pmTo create a developmentally appropriate, fun, and physically active classroom, you can incorporate activities that align with children’s interests and abilities. Provide a variety of age-appropriate play materials and equipment, such as balls, climbing structures, and balance beams. Encourage active play through games, dance parties, and outdoor exploration. Remember to scaffold activities to support each child’s individual development.
