The guidance around challenging behaviors is most useful, as those can often be the most stressful over time for caregivers.

I think it is critical to have policies that at least touch on all aspects of the program.

I think it is especially important to have policies in the event of any kind of emergency situation (health, environmental, etc.) to help guide the strategy for how to manage the situation. Additionally I think policies for general classroom behavior/conducting oneself in the classroom can be helpful for students to understand and internalize what is acceptable behavior in the classroom. It also helps teachers maintain more structure and organized chaos during the day.

There are too many possible situations to keep track of them all. From cleaning supplies to environment set-up to record keeping, there are a lot of situations where I may not remember exactly what should be done and can ise the guidelines as a reference.

It’s a good thing to have around for emergency policies, how to speak with parents about things.

I think that childcare written policy’s would help out if this was your first time dealing with a specific situation and or you are new to that childcare facilities and want to make sure you are handling different situations the exact way your company wants you to .

Childcare policies and guidance would be useful when there is a need to report an incident or the safety of a child is at risk.

High emotional behavior moments outdoors during recess times, bullying (secrets, rumors, girls versus boys hurting feelings) guides.

I absolutely think having guidelines are important. Guildelines set boundaries, protect the provider as well as the children and parents. Having something important to reference in case a situation happens is important for everyone.

I think the written guidance policies would be useful in scenarios where you maybe unsure how to redirect misbehavior or want to learn other ways to guide children other than punishments.
