MemberJune 19, 2025 at 3:30 pmAll of the WACs address diversity in a way and show that being inclusive is a top priority when it comes to childcare. Being inclusive can make children feel more comfortable with their early childcare professionals, and it can create a healthy environment for the workers too.

1. WAC 110-300-0085 and WAC-110-300-0030 discuss diversity and collaboration with families, ensuring there is no discrimination and that child care facilities are required to communicate with families. 2. The WAC states that childcare facilities have to respect race, ethnicity, gender, disabilities, and culture, and cannot discriminate against any of the above. 3. One material to promote diversity could be play food from several cultures and not just a predominantly white culture.

Which focuses on nurturing and responsive interactions that support each child’s emotional and social well-being. Programs must also establish open, respectful, and inclusive communication. I’d suggest advertising a book that features diverse characters and experiences like ” All Are Welcome” by Alexandra Penfold.
-
Great insight, Mirtha! Promoting positive relationships is crucial for fostering diversity and collaboration. Your book suggestion is excellent!
