MemberJuly 7, 2025 at 10:11 pm1. The WACs that address diversity and collaboration with families are WAC 110-300-0100, WAC 110-300-0200, WAC 110-300-0155, and WAC 110-300-0150. 2. The general big messages these WACs give in regards to diversity and collaboration are making sure we respect different beliefs, cultures, racial, or religious backgrounds of families and staff members within our community and foster a inclusive and accepting environment. Additionally, promoting diversity and open communication within our spaces with students, families, staff, teachers, etc.

We can allow kids to pray if they would like, meditate if they would like, have options of food if there is something their religion doesn’t allow them to consume. The WAC tries to cover all no discrimination while allowing others to do what is allowed by their culture/ religion.

The big messages the WACs portray are that there can be no discrimination against any part of the child (culture, race, gender, etc.)One way to be inclusive in the classroom could be crayons for different skin colors (I know crayola makes some!)

The WAC also focus’ on inclusive materials, practices, family engagement. The primary message about diversity and collaboration is to respect every child’s background, don’t exclude or discriminate and child or family based on their diverse background, and to always share information about the program and the child with their family or guardian. WAC-110-300-0030 talks about discrimination against anyone else based on numerous factors. Big WACs are intended to stop any unlawful or discrimination against anyone based on who they are, what they look like and more.
