-
I can become familiar with the symptoms of child abuse by having a copy of the “Protecting the Abused and Neglected Child” the pamphlet and be sure to watch out for signs in the pamphlet that indicate possible abuse. To follow state laws and community procedures that protect children against abuse and neglect, I must immediately report the circumstances when I have reason to believe a child is suffering from physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
-
I would first let my director know and see if we both agree if she also sees suspicion, I would immediately report the finding. After the call I would document for records.
-
I am a mandated reported so obviously I would report it, but i would also keep very through noted and keep my management team in the loop

MemberJanuary 3, 2023 at 4:19 pmIf I notice patterns or behaviors consistent with abuse or neglect from the children and their caretakers, I would make a report with the CPS. I would also talk to a director of my program and follow any internal protocol.
-
The process/protocol is important and should be followed carefully. Be sure to include your supervisor in all situations and document all conversations and actions.
-
-
If I noticed signs of abuse with a child that I work with I would talk with my lead teacher and the director. If there are concerns of abuse we should contact administration so that they can contact Child Protective Services.
-
Depending on who I think is abusing the child, I would report it to my state and my director. I care about the children in my care, and want them to thrive. I think about the child before I think about anything else. I would make sure everything is documented and that I am as sure as I can be about the abuse before reporting it.
-
I would talk to my supervisor and see what she thinks would be the best step to take forward for the child, report it if needed and make sure that child is getting the help they need to build healthy relationships and the ability to grow as an individual.
-
The first thing I would do in this situation is go to a lead teacher or Director to have them assess the child as well before speaking to them myself. If we are Still suspicious we would report it or call 1866endharm
-
Ask more open ended questions to the child without sounding to alarmed. Have all information ready and available for when I call to report.
-
I would report to the head direct with my concerns and observations. Ask about the policy to report abuse or neglect. Then I would proceed with filing with CPS/DSHS.
-
If I suspected this I would report it to a supervisor to know what the best thing to do would be.
-
legally we are required to say something within a certain time frame. I would have a harder time being around the primary guardians if i saw obvious signs of abuse
-
I would report to my supervisor and call 1-866-endharm to discuss what I’ve been seeing and if it’s to call for concern if all checks out I would file a report

Taking proper steps to take correct course of action is very important when it comes to situations like this.
