GuestAugust 18, 2025 at 9:33 pmwe follow the Washington administrative code on screen time as well as having ECEAP performance standards that further regulate how much time and what the contents can be. students are limited to a total of an hour and a half per week, divided how the teachers see fit, the material has to be educational, staff must be interactive with students during its presentation and no student can be forced to participate in screen time activities (though I haven’t met one yet that didn’t want to dance to Baby Shark)

GuestAugust 20, 2025 at 8:14 pmOur main campus preschool doesn’t utilize screens, with the very rare exception of a dance or movement video if the weather is inclement all day. We have no iPads or tablets and don’t have projectors in our preschool rooms. Our entire school (preschool-6th) is dedicated to minimal screen time, and most of what we do use is targeted mathematics programs and word processing for our 3rd-6th graders.

GuestAugust 23, 2025 at 8:57 pmWe do use tv during down time – more so on rainy days. I like to use online book versions. No tablets are allowed or used in my home childcare setting. I can not possible supervise what each child is doing on a device during the day so we just don’t allow them. We spend lots of time outside and crafting.

GuestAugust 30, 2025 at 3:52 amWe do not have screen time at our school. We focus on interacting with the kids, games, reading and play time both inside and outside. Screen time for these kids will be determined by their parents at home.

GuestAugust 31, 2025 at 8:08 pmScreen time is very limited in our program. We allow educational cartoons upon arrival so children can finish waking up for the day and then we allow another 20 minutes of screen time (TV) during rest time. As far as tablets go if the weather is not permitting us to go outside (very rare in our area) we may bring out tablets for 15-20 minutes on educational resources.
