GuestDecember 30, 2023 at 7:15 pmWe actually have under 30 minutes a day if not even every day. It might be a learning video on the Arctic animals or whatever our theme is but that is maybe 1 day a week if that. I don’t have a TV in my daycare areas at all. They have no access to tablets.

GuestJanuary 1, 2024 at 5:22 amWe don’t use screen time at our center on a regular basis. If we do show a movie or show, it is rated G and only for the school age or prek class during a holiday party. This would occur 1-2 times per year. The only other exception for screen time would be a few minute educational video that has to do with the current lesson plan but still for preschool or older. One example of this would be a 2 minute clip of an animal building a nest to go along with the nature theme that week.

GuestJanuary 8, 2024 at 4:26 pmYes, we limit screen time. Children under the age of 3 do not get any screen time. The ipads are only used for music and teachers to do their plans. Over the age of 3, they are very limited to how much time they get each week. The teachers very rarely give the children screen time from what I have observed.

GuestJanuary 19, 2024 at 5:45 pmWorking in a home-based child care facility, we do limit screen time for all ages. School age children are only allowed screen time during quiet/nap time. The younger kids rarely see screen time unless it is a video used for lessons or a brain break right before lunch to help get some of their energy out before nap time!

GuestJanuary 30, 2024 at 5:13 amWe use the TV for worship in the morning and a bible story and maybe a video book a couple times throughout the week. I know many of them are on their devices at home so I really try to limit it at school.

GuestJanuary 30, 2024 at 8:11 pmyes, at the center where I worked children have the opportunity to use the tablet during free play. As a classroom we decided on the rules for the tablet. We use a timer to limit the time on the tablet and during the usage of the tablet is kid-friendly it only has children’s age-appropriate games. These games allow us teachers to go back and get a report to use to assess our children.
