GuestJune 20, 2024 at 8:28 pmscreen time is very limited at our center. we have a game board, but children are only allowed 10 minutes maximum when they play, and usually we only allow them to play on it once a week.
we also have “movie time” every other friday where we watch part of a movie after nap time while we have snack before playing outside. aside from that, screen time is not used or allowed.

GuestJune 22, 2024 at 11:45 pmAt the current daycare center I am currently working for we are not allowed any screen time for the children. Although I believe screen time would be such a great help while I’m cleaning the classroom, or trying to finish up a project to keep the children entertained I believe eliminating screen time has been very successful in building relationships, interactions, and working on curriculum’s with the children.

GuestJune 28, 2024 at 1:52 amAt our community theatre, we run an education program with no need for screens. This is unique to us, because kids come here for the experience of learning about theatre arts. However, in the past 5 years, even kids who want to connect with each other and work on their performance skills have a hard time disconnecting from their devices, music, videos, games, etc. We have to hold a rule that they can only use their phones at lunch, for the thirty minute period. We try to provide engaging alternatives during that time as well.

GuestJuly 4, 2024 at 9:02 pmThe center I work at is screen time free. We have no tablets or computers for children to play, or watch anything on. We will occasionally watch a movie the last day before our holiday break, but not without each parents permission.

GuestJuly 18, 2024 at 2:36 amFor the state of North Carolina, there is no screen time for children in the age group of birth to 2 years old. For ages 3 and up, the screen time is 30 minutes a day which includes being on the computer. Screen time can be broken down into 15-minute increments. Screen time can be used in the morning while you are preparing breakfast if you are by yourself in a home setting and monitoring as often as you can within sight. The other 15-minute increment can be used in the afternoon to calm the children down and get them ready to go home.

GuestJuly 18, 2024 at 6:47 pmWe do limit the amount our school age children to be on devices or screen time. We do not allow our younger children on screen time or devices. We allow G movies at times but only once in awhile for a special occasion.

GuestJuly 20, 2024 at 10:22 pmWe get less than 20 minutes a week….I don’t have tv. If there is any media it is a learning video about whatever our theme of the week is (Sharks, plants, planets etc)

GuestJuly 22, 2024 at 1:11 pmYes we do set a time limit followed by a weekly schedule. I find that most of our children do not even use the time allotted. They are busy in other areas of the classroom.

GuestJuly 22, 2024 at 9:59 pmWe do not provide children with screen time in our early Eacap program, there are some classrooms that supply a computer with educational materials on them, but the children are allowed limited access, only to educate them on how electronics work and computers.
