Creating a handwashing song is always a good thing I think also creating a visual activity = having little clouds that function as bacteria taped on gloves and offer some type of process that simulates water so the kids can see what is happening and experience it for themselves similar to a game

<strong data-start=”580″ data-end=”612″>Planting seeds in clear cups so children can observe root growth over time. They love watering their plants and noticing changes each day—it helps them understand living things and the concept of growth and change. To make activities engaging, I:<ul data-start=”834″ data-end=”1183″> Use <strong data-start=”840″ data-end=”858″>real materials they can touch, pour, and manipulate. Ask <strong data-start=”905″ data-end=”929″>open-ended questions like, “What do you notice?” or “Why do you think that happened?” Encourage <strong data-start=”1009″ data-end=”1036″>discussion and teamwork, allowing them to share their ideas. Connect science to <strong data-start=”1097″ data-end=”1121″>everyday experiences—for example, talking about how rain forms or why ice melts. Hands-on science should always feel like <strong data-start=”1226″ data-end=”1255″>exploration and discovery, where children feel safe to experiment, get messy, and learn from what they see and do.

I like singing a song to make handwashing more fun and to help them remember how long to wash hands.

WE chose a specific song for children to engage, while washing hands. For older children we count to 20.

I make handwashing fun by singing songs like “Happy Birthday” or “ABC” while we wash our hands. Kids love the bubbles and colorful soap. Sometimes we pretend we’re washing away “germs monsters,” and it makes them laugh and want to do it again.

Put pepper in a plate of water and show kids how soap pushes the pepper away. This can reinforce the importance of using soap when you was your hands.

I always find that singing a catchy song helps with making handwashing fun. Setting up a timer by the sink to make sure they get 20 seconds of handwashing is also helpful.

Singing songs and wiggling our bodies can make hand washing very fun turning it into a dance
