I feel the nonverbal communications are much more difficult to notice since the covid pandemic because of everyone having to wear face masks. This can interfere with development and interacting with the children.

All children are impacted by interactions that re verbal or non verbal. Giving them confidence through our interactions gives them confidence to succeed

The lead teacher that I learned from truly enjoyed her job! It was her life and you could tell! She was always smiling, and always had great activities planned for the children. I learned so much from her, she made me into the teacher I am today.

When I went to kindergarten my mom always gave me a milkshake that I didn’t like and when I went to school I was sad or angry, but when I got to the door of the classroom the teacher always greeted me with a smile, it made me feel better, I came in and I was going to play

we had a student this year when he came into the program, we were told that his first few year sof life he wasnt held often, talked to often. his parents were on drugs and he was left o fend for himself. he was very serious, as the year went , we saw him smiling and laughing more with the kids. he saw their happiness and began to do the same

When you smile it can change the way a child interacts with their environment, their peers and themselves. It creates emotional response and understand of the world around them. It also builds a bond with a child and their relationship with adults and teachers.

your presence impact the child when they arrive to the center. Pienso que la actitude que miren los ninos al llegar al centro o guarderia impacta su dia a dia, siempre tengo una actitud positiva con ellos para que se sientan seguros cuando se despiden de sus parents.

I have a friend who says her earliest memories are of her parents scowling at her every time she tried to talk to them. To this day, she shies away from initiating conversations with people to avoid “annoying” them. It’s very unfortunate they couldn’t have smile and nodded about when their own child came to them excited about something.

I believe nonverbal comunication is important because it compels the child that they are safe to learn and develop.
