We would explain the parents/guardians their daily routine, handwashing policies and procedures, and showing them our emergency exits and our practice procedures. Also letting them know if they need to assure their children’s safety, they can let us know if anything changes or their child’s behavior, needs, we can always call them or them calling us to make sure their child’s doing okay.

We would also talk in a one-on-one conversation with her personally to let her know that anything she says is confidential and keeping in mind that we will respect what she says. We would explain to the parent/guardian of the child that coming late to pick up his/her child would make an impact on him/her due to seeing her peers leaving before him/her or the child might ask or wonder why her/his parent is not there to pick them up, did they forgot about them or did they abandon them.

WAC 110-300-0160- talks about the meaning of creating the opportunities for families and staff to provide the equipment and materials to share children’s learning in balancing the different ethics, cultural groups, and stopping bias behavior displayed by children and adults(appropriate conversations).
2. WACs gives us the opportunities as early learning providers to ensure to include everyone meaning to accept their cultural preferences, language spoken, and to not accept behavior that could offend or hurt families that trust us in their children’s care of learning.
