I work with infants and we get them engaged with music,sensory toys and books,bubbles and soft balls etc.

I think that a welcoming, clean, safe and everything is at the child’s level and plenty different learning toys and activities also quiet space is good too because some children need to escape and be alone and quiet sometimes, also the family style dining is important too.

I would talk with a coworker about what I want to say and make sure I have my observation reports so the family knows that the child is struggling and it’s based on evidence and not opinion , also make sure to give them some resources and keep everything confidential.

Observation and documentation help an early childhood teacher to see where the child is developing for their age group and their pace and helps to plan activities and curriculum and extra help if needed in the individual child.
