  • give yourself an extra 5 minutes for transitions

  • hands on activities!

  • a good way to apporach a parent about their child getting screened would be collecting as much data as possible, through observations, through their artwork or classwork. getting a second opinion from a coworker or coteacher would also be beneficial.

  • observing and documenting a child’s development helps early learning providers to find and patterns or address and concerns as well as help provide more personal curriculum to the child

I believe providers can create a serve and return environment in their classrooms by being attentive to all the students and being present in the classroom. It can be a challenge but remembering to check on each child and how their doing can go along way. Even if actively doing something with one child take a few seconds to scan the room and check on each of the other children.

  • While completing the activity and reading through the material i discovered the WAC’s are very thorough and detailed, its very clear they were made with alot of thought and consideration to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for children. I wasn’t surprised per say when learning more of the WAC’s but i was a bit taken aback by how strict or particular some of them seem to be, nonetheless I completely understand why they’re in place and why it is so important we are implimenting and following the WAC’s actively in our programs. I definitely see how the WAC’s can influence our daily lives and routines, theyre so detailed and are somehow incorporated in every area of the center making it somehow seamlessly incorporated in our routines naturally.
