I would ask the parent if there is anything you can do to help them arrive on time to pick their child up. Staying late is difficult for the child as well as the staff. Talking with the parent may result in generating some ideas to help them get there on time.
The WACs that address diversity and collaboration with families is WACs 110-300-0160. The big message is that we make sure we are being inclusive and respectful about diversity when it comes to other children, families, and staff. That we have classrooms that reflect all people in regards to toys, books, pictures etc. That the staff and children are respectful and open to learning about others.
There are a lot of WACs. I can see the benefit of having standardized codes. I definitely. see how the WACs will influence my day to day operations!
