There should be a section on attendance and what the outcome of a late pick up would mean. At a center I worked at, the parent would have to notify in advance by communicating through an app the center had. If it occurred more than three times I believe, there would be a fee.
I agree with this method. I would approach the parent with letting them I understand life can be a little hectic and a few minutes is not a biggie, but we would appreciate a heads up and if there is anything we can do as far as a schedule change to help with pick up time. Also remind them after X amount of times it will be written up and a fee will be applied.

- What big messages do the WACs give regarding diversity and collaboration? -The early learning center must provide culturally and racially diverse learning opportunities, diverse learning opportunities must be demonstrated by providers curriculum, activities, and materials that represent all children, families and staff. Use equipment/materials that include but not limited to diverse dolls, pictures, books, and games. Information that does not reinforce stereotypes.

1. What I discovered from the WAC is there is a lot of great information and answers when in doubt or unsure how to proceed when a problem or question arises while working at a center.
2. I wasn’t surprised by the WAC rules more so how in detail the regulations are in, very little room for confusion or misunderstanding, but still straight to the point.
3. I can definitely see how the WACs will influence my day to day practices, I think being more knowledgeable and sure of how things need/should to be done will make me feel more secure and confident and reflect in my overall work with children, colleagues, and families.
