My biggest worry in keeping children safe is the world we live in and the unpredictable nature of it.

My advice would be going into every conversation with confidence and professionalism. Make sure you have good reason and/ or evidence for what you are talking about. Continue to help their child grow and show a real interest in their learning.

Some creative ways to get children engaged are the serve and return tactic, hands on learning like art or puzzles, dramatic play or dress up, incorporate music or movement.

Some tips could be: Scheduling required items like snack, lunch, nap, pottying etc and then penciling in outside time, class time, circle time etc.

I think having a space for everyone is important to their learning. This includes a quiet/library space, art/messy area, dramatic play, play structures for younger kids, a class pet for older kids.

Good ways to approach a parent about this would be to make sure you know what you are saying by jotting down a list of points and going over it with a coworker. Make sure you have positive observations of the child to talk about as well. Also make sure you have evidence of these concerns.

Observing and documenting a childs development can help you do many things while trying to understand development. It can help you keep track of milestones or delays that may occur and also create a personalized approach to the child and help point out concerns or red flags.

I think there should be zero screen time in early childhood development, especially in ages 0-3. I think in the older stages like 3+ there can be little screen time interaction.

A way I can create a serve and return environment is to show a child how to do an activity and them give it to them to try.

In this situation I would let my supervisor know so they are aware of the issue then try and talk to the parent about why this may be happening.

2. The big messages that the WACS give are, early learning professionals must give culturally and diverse learning opportunities and experiences and it must be in the curriculum. They must use materials and accessories in their lesson plan that do not imply insensitivity. Overall making the child feel comfortable and included.
