    1) There were so many policies and they were all extremely thorough, covering every possible situation.

    2) Nothing surprised me but there were something that I did not think of or I was just completely unaware of.

    3) Everything is very regulated, how you handle yourself and the children. So the WAC’s play a role in every interaction with co-workers and children

What I <font face=”inherit”>noticed while completing </font>the<font face=”inherit”> activity is that there is a lot of reading and a lot of things you need to be </font>knowledgeable about when it comes ti WAC.

<div><strong style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”>Were you surprised by any of the WACs?</div><div>

I was surprised by how many there were to learn about and how important they are, although they may seem like they are not important but they all matter since it does involve children.

<strong style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”>Can you see how the WACs will influence <strong style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”>your day-to-day practice in caring for children? I can see how it can influence our day by day practice in caring for children because you want to follow all safety protocols, the environment guidelines, all for the safety of the children in the classroom and make sure everyone feels comfortable and is healthy.

I found that there were a lot of WACS and also that a lot of them tie into what we were talking about having professionalism in your job. This is all so that the children can have the best learning experience and also have fun. Nothing really surprised me about the WACS because I have read them before. I can totally see how this effects my job day-to-day because they have a lot to do with me doing my job correctly while keeping the safety and happiness of the children I will be working with in mind.

I discovered that parents that want the early learning program to
provide summer care after the child is 13 years of age. The program requests a short-term
waiver. due to the program being seasonal out of school.

    1. What did you discover about the WACs while completing the activity?
    2. The WACs were surprisingly thorough, covering all licenses and guidelines regarding early childcare in Washington. I was not expecting there to be so many different requirements for different scenarios

    3. Were you surprised by any of the WACs?
    4. WAC 110-300-505 I was not expecting there to be such strict guidelines around handwashing and posted instructions for the proper procedures

    5. Can you see how the WACs will influence your day-to-day practice in caring for children? Why or why not?

I can see myself looking back to the WACs when I find myself in a difficult situation that I don’t understand the procedure for. I prefer to have a very specific outlined way for handling scenarios when teaching and working with children so the WACs will be very helpful.

While completing the activity, I discovered that the WACs provide clear guidelines for maintaining a safe, structured, and legally compliant early learning environment. They outline licensing requirements, health and safety protocols, and staff responsibilities.

Some WACs were surprising, especially the level of detail required in certain policies, such as sanitation and documentation rules. However, this ensures consistency and accountability in child care.

The WACs will definitely influence daily practice by guiding decision-making, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high-quality care. Understanding them helps create a safe, nurturing, and professional learning environment.

While completing the activity, I discovered that the WACs (Washington Administrative Codes) provide clear guidelines for how early childhood education should be carried out, focusing on the safety and well-being of children.

I wasn’t really surprised by any of the WACs, but it amazed me how they emphasized how important creating a consistent and safe learning environment for children is.

I can see how the WACs will influence my day-to-day practice in caring for children. They help me understand what I need to do to ensure children are safe. Following these guidelines will make me more aware of my responsibilities and improve the quality of care I provide.

    1. The ratios on the WAC were surprising to me.
    2. Most of the information in the WAC seemed like common sense to me, it mostly comes automatically to me but there is a reason why it is there.
    3. Yes, when interacting with co-workers I can refer to the WAC if I need to help steer them in a better direction.

I learned that the WAC is designed to keep children safe. I was surprised how thorough they are and how much is covered. From washing hands to strings on window coverings, it’s really all there. Everything you need to know.
