I believe that too much screentime is harmful for young developing children. They should be playing outside and spending time reading and with family. I have seen kids who have too much screen time and their social skills are developing much slower than normal. They have a harder time regulating their emotions and usually throw fits when something does not go their way.

Narrating and adding language to a child’s experience. Naming their feelings when they experience them and how to work through them.

Explain that these 20 minutes affect the child way more than it affects the staff. Explain that it is also not quite fair on the staff. The child may be exhausted and the child needs structure in their schedule and alte pick up times interfere with that.
