  • Observing a documenting a child’s development helps to keep track of each child’s individual development. This allows the teacher to structure appropriate activities.

    I think one way to facilitate a serve and return classroom is by creating a child forward environment where they can begin and end activities as they please. This allows us to follow and respect the natural ends and beginnings of their play.

    1. What did you discover about the WACs while completing the activity? I discovered that the WACs are pretty extensively explained so that they are easy to find and very clear. I saw the direct improvement of the current WACs as compared to previous versions.
    2. Were you surprised by any of the WACs? I was not particularly surprised by any WACs
    3. Can you see how the WACs will influence your day-to-day practice in caring for children? Why or why not? Yes of course! It will influence everything I do from setting up my classroom to how I structure lessons.
