We teach the kids to sing Happy Birthday twice while washing their hands.

I like to use a <strong data-start=”54″ data-end=”76″>Glitter Germs Game with the kids. I put a little glitter on their hands to show where germs might be. Then we wash our hands with soap and water, and they love watching the “germs” disappear. It makes handwashing really fun and visual for them.

We sing a clean up song together, and everyone takes turns washing their hands while their friends count and remind them of the steps.

I try everyday with my class to help them learn how important it is to instill cleansiness in them I try new and different things often. One day we will make it a game and count how many toys they pick up. Then we do a special reward of some kind. Another day we will sing a song together. And time how fast we can clean the room and get ready for lunch. That way their is some variety still.

We sing songs about cleanliness and while washing hands i always make sure their hands are washed before lunch and after bathroom use!

I turn cleanup into a game by playing music and racing to finish before it ends. It makes cleaning fun and builds good habits

All my children are still very young so the clean up song works wonders if that does not work than I try to help the kids clean and reward them with a dance party if they do so!

I play the song ” This is the way I wash my hands” to remind children that it’s time to wash their hands before lunchtime.

I usually sing a song with the kids or I will wash my hands alongside the children so that they are seeing an example of an adult washing their hands. I will also assign them a fun cleaning job such as using a child friendly brush and dust pan to help pick up items off the floor. We also have child friendly toys in our home area that showcase cleaning.

When its cleaning time because we are going to eat snack i always play the fastest table that way kiddos are challenging them self to clean and wash their hands and need to be sitting down so we can start having snack or lunch and they love it because they always have so much fun because they want to win the other tables. And when they’re all sitting i ask them to show me their hands so I can see if they have germs. Then they’re like ohhh I need to go wash my hands.

Something I like to do is have them all wash their hands before storytime, and then we eat! This is a good incentive since they are excited for storytime.
