Taking a deep breath, going for a short walk or long hike, listen to music, sing, ride bike, read a book, write, watch tv and talk to a friend to relief the stress. Those are the ones that works for me.

For me, talking about what is going on and what is stressing me out can help (always keeping confidentiality of course as well). But staying cuddled up with my significant other and watching a movie helps me calm down as well. And exercise helps too!

I like to go on a quick outside break and do some breathing. Reading, sewing, and listening to soft music is also helpful.

MemberAugust 30, 2023 at 3:05 amI have found that I can really benefit from a recharge on my ten-minute break and my lunch break. I will try to get outside if the weather is nice; otherwise, I like to take my breaks near windows where I can see outside. I will often read my Bible app and meditate on Scripture that I find calming and comforting. I also use the Calm app and can take a break in my car and do a quick calming meditation on particularly challenging days. But in those challenging moments when I need to be present with the children, taking a few, slow, deep breaths can help center me and refocus my brain so that I can stay calm and better problem solve.

Stress relieving is an important thing that needs to be taken care of no matter which ever job you are in.Some of the methods to release stress that I find useful are:
~ Close your eyes an take a few deep breaths
~ Take a 5-10 mins break from the scenario thats causing the stress.
~ Open the window/door or go out , take some fresh air it definitely makes you feel light and relaxed.
~ “Me time” or “Me space” even for a few minutes can work wonders for calming you down and getting you over the stress
~ Listen to a couple of relaxing, soft songs can be helpful
~ Talking /Telling somebody about your stress , help you vent out as a result you release the stress
~ If you do not have somebody to talk with, you can write down in diary that also kind of helps

It is often we as teachers forget out ourselves. I find it extremely helpful to exercise daily, and to leave the building for my lunch hour. These things allow me to debrief and take time for myself.

MemberSeptember 13, 2023 at 8:54 pmYes, working with children can be both rewarding and emotional. To release stress, I’ve found techniques like deep breathing, taking short breaks, practicing mindfulness, and engaging in activities that bring joy and relaxation helpful. It’s important to prioritize self-care and find healthy outlets for stress, such as exercising, spending time in nature, or pursuing hobbies. Remember, taking care of yourself allows you to better support the children in your care.
