try and not make a big deal about everything that happens. kids are going to do bad things; they are going to get hurt and they won’t always get along with each other. the best thing you can do is make things as enjoyable as possible.

Outside of work there are a number of things one can do to release stress, but in the moment things that can help are deep breathing, meditation, taking a step back or changing the task you are doing.

I like to sit at my computer, put my noise canceling head phones on, turn on my music really loud and focus on the music. break down the instruments I hear, the back ground vocal and study the song. or go for a drive at night, or play with my dog

Working all day can be very exhausting. I’ve found it helps to make sure I practice active rest at home so that I am ready to return to the classroom fresh and recharged. This helps my clarity and patience in the long run.

I go on silent drives after work if I have the time and gas, play with my dogs, socialize with adults and have intellectual conversations.

I have found that breaking away and doing things outside of work gives you time to rejuvenate. Clear minds create clear decision making.
