Yes, working in a daycare, I’ve learned that taking a few deep breaths when I feel stressed helps a lot. It also helps to take short breaks when the children are calm or step outside the classroom for a moment to clear my mind. Also, talking with my coworkers about the day and sharing experiences helps me release tension and feel supported. Finally, remembering why I love working with children and seeing their progress gives me energy and helps me forget the stress of the moment.

MemberDecember 7, 2025 at 2:27 amPersonally, I find journaling and listening to music can really help me out when I feel stress. Getting my thoughts and feelings out on paper have been really helpful in sorting out how I’m feeling and relieves me from stress that I may built up over the day. Doing lesson planning with music in the background also seems to give me a calm, tranquil environment so as to not stress about planning activities for my kiddos.
-
Catherine, your strategies of journaling and listening to music are excellent! They promote self-reflection and create a calming atmosphere.
