The guidebook is available in other languages too, https://www.dcyf.wa.gov/publications-library?combine_1=LIC_0010&combine=Guidebook&field_program_topic_value=All&field_languages_available_value=All
Hope this helps!

MemberSeptember 27, 2022 at 9:27 pmIt was helpful to have a small refresher course, I have been out of child care for several years, and it has been nice for me to know that the WACs are written in a way that I am able to understand. I also found it helpful to know that they cover a fair amount of issues that can take place in a child care center.

3. I can see how the terminology can affect my day to day just simply by understanding the lingo.

1. WACS are extremely useful and can help with more than just child care!
2. I was surprised by a few as they were detailed and were able to have me ask a question then answer it with the next bit of information.
3. Yes, they set standards that we should all follow as they are right and perfected in the form of child care.

hello!! im not sure if im replying in the correct manner for the discussion, but here were my thoughts on the WAC hunt:
- What did you discover about the WACs while completing the activity? There was a lot more to it than I originally thought there would be, it was very in depth.
- Were you surprised by any of the WACs? Yes and no, I think with the care of children we should have many standards and regulations in place to ensure they are in a healthy and positive environment, however I was surprised at how in depth the WAC was.
- Can you see how the WACs will influence your day-to-day practice in caring for children? Why or why not? yes I can see how the WACs would affect my day to day because they help us care for children in positive and safe ways by following regulations and standards. They help early learning childcare providers to maintain positive learning environments that support children growth and development as well as safety and health.
