I discovered that there were a lot more WACs than I originally thought. I did not know that you had to watch out for cross contamination in gardens with animals and upon reading feel like these need to be printed and shared more frequently.

i discovered that there is a lot of information to learn about and take into account of moving into the childcare space. i was not surprised. i can see how it will help me because knowing rules i get by easier but also a lot of it does seem kind of unnecessary

what I discovered about the wacs while completing this activity was that there are quite a few requirements that you have to follow in childcare when it comes to our state. I wasn’t really surprised by any of the wacs. I feel like most of them make sense. and for the last question, yes I see how the wacs influences my day to day because of work. there are rules that you need to follow and requirements that you have to do too. it is a way to keep yourself and the kids and your colleges safe too.

1. I discovered that the WAC is very thorough, detailed, and easy to understand. For example, in WAC 110-300-100, it explained that a qualified staff member should be at least 18 years old, have a High School Diploma, completed preservice requirements (30 Hour Childcare Basics, etc.).

3.Yes, the WAC will influence my day-to-day practice in caring for children because the guidelines need to be followed in order to keep the children safe, to provide a positive learning environment that promotes growth and respects their families.

1. What did you discover about the WACs while completing the activity? I discovered the WACs were much more in depth than I expected them to be. I was surprised on how many specific rules and regulations go with each WAC as well. I also noticed they were organized in a nice way, so that the WACs will be easy to find if need be.
2. Were you surprised by any of the WACs? I was surprised that center directors also have to go through a lengthy training and licensing process, along with the teachers in the daycare.
