Dance party, introducing songs that have the children engage in movement throughout the song.

Having adults active in play, creating or facilitating active social games that encourage cooperation and problem solving. Using music and musically based games to get children moving and engaged. Using nature as part of the play. Bringing materials that are challenging and developmentally appropriate and rotating the use of them. For example, hula hoops, pool noodles, musical instruments, building materials, balls, etc.

We do games/dances that encourage the kids to move. They can come up with actions that the whole class participates in. We do yoga/stretching, just like their parents, and they like coming up with their own stretches that we all do together. While outside, we have lots of races, hide and seek, red light green light etc.

I would make the activity fun by singing, dancing, and encouraging them as they are following along.

In my classroom we try to sing songs and encourage the kids to get up and dance around. The children love it and we have a lot of fun with it. We also have a great outdoor playground for the kids to be able to run around in. There’s a portion of it that is covered in fake grass and some that’s concrete. We have taught them to walk or march on the concrete and they can run on the grass. They love it.

Having interactive songs and games such as duck duck goose or using a parachute gets the blood going. Also having lots of toy areas for kids to play. I really enjoy having stations for kids to able to try different things. Also having a toy rotation always helps.

Give children something to look forward to. Create activities that are physically accessible to people with different levels of physical ability.

This is an excellent way to help children learn to include everyone.

There are many different ways where we can maintain a physically active classroom environment. We can incorporate this into different games, songs, and other group activities Teachers may run in the classroom!

Singing interactive songs and have a “free choice” time where they can’t choose what they do giving them a sense of control.

Create space for physical activity where possible, sing songs and make up dances to teach things, make games based off of interests that then incorporate physical movements like simon says and red light green light when going into activities or going to other locations.

There are children’s songs that involve jumping and when we used to do it when I was little, a lot of the kids are very much involved with the dancing and got a lot of laughter from it. In the mornings, have time to play some relaxing music and show them easy and developmentally appropriate stretching exercises.

HAVING TASKS THAT INVOLVE HANDS ON LIKE PAINTING OR PLAYING WITH FEATHERS PERHAPS. I THINK ENGAGING CHILDREN TO HAVE HANDS ON ACTIVITIES REALLY HELPS CHIDLREN TO ENGAGE

We like to do math by using dice and do an exercise for example if they roll a 7 they will choose to do 7 sit-ups, pushups or jumping jacks.

We also do yoga and follow a kids exercise video.
