rather than having screen time (electronic visuals), you can use Alexa or alternate audio things to entertain children (music) or to recreate story time. We can also encourage for older children to not bring an electronics from home to daycare.

I believe screen time in a childcare is not necessary, depending on the childcare and set up possibly. But i believe the time they are in childcare should be used to be present off electronics for the children. They are toddlers, they can play together and there will be music time and instruments they can play with, pe time, nap time snack time there will always be something for them and during snack time they can eat and chit chat in that mean time.

I dont agree with the idea of letting your baby/toddler/child get their attention needs fulfilled by screen time is the best way to go about getting your child through the day happy. Children learn best hands on and too much screen time It can damage the way they process information in the future.

I think screen time can only be an issue if it’s being abused, and used for long periods a day. I think its okay if it’s being used for an educational purpose or just for a little while as a reward. For example, I love seeing my child get excited over tv characters and when there are books that have her favorite characters it gives me a chance to read her some books that keep her interested. So sometimes it can be beneficial to have screen time.

I think screen time should be kept to a minimum or NO screen time at school. Younger kiddos are easily entertained in my opinion and they love to make music with their bodies or voices, many enjoy book readings & story telling.

I believe screen time can be okay if: Limited to One Hour: About an hour is acceptable. Educational Content: It should be educational shows or programs. Positive Experience: It can make kids happy and engaged.

Normally, I’d prefer no screen time for kids but, sometimes, there are exceptions. For example, when there are days with no other teacher in the classroom. It can be helpful to have the children listen and watch a book so I can quickly set up lunch or lay their cots down. It depends on the situation, but overall, I don’t agree on screen time when it isn’t necessary.

Noung, I agree with your approach. Screen time should be limited and used only when necessary.

I think that screen time should not be given to the children, I think something more educational or independent would be better.

I don’t think young kids need screen time. While it may be a good break for the parent, the kids don’t need it in order to thrive and in some cases could hinder development.

Screentime like short movies that encourage kids to do positive activities while watching, like dancing and singing are okay. Ones that designed to make the kids glued for a long period of time should be avoided.

Maybe 30 minutes is okay to use for a learning activity. It’s not beneficial to derive children the experience of screentime because the reality is that our world needs it. I think monitored screentime and using it for learning is good.

I believe that screen time for children in childcare should be carefully managed. It’s important to ensure that screens don’t replace crucial activities like physical play, social interactions, and hands-on learning. When screens are used, they should provide high-quality, educational content that is age-appropriate and promotes active engagement rather than just passive viewing.

Based on the evidence provided, it is my opinion the screen time in child care should be at a minimum for children of preschool age and younger. With a max of 1 to 2 hours at home.

I feel that screen time in daycare is a great idea because as a childcare teacher i’m responsible for planning things for my class.
