Showing any space the child would be there in during his or her day there. Bathrooms, outdoor play, lobby. I would also point out the first aid kit, and what security measures we have for the building and what we would do in case of emergencies. Let them know that everything is also in the parent handbook provided.

MemberNovember 12, 2023 at 12:35 amI’d talk to them about the child locks, where we store any chemicals that could be of potential danger to the children. I’d show them where we put the kids when they nap, or when they’re playing. One other thing I’d show is the safety measures we’ve taken in the bathrooms so that children are not at liberty to touch anything that could spread germs or even be harmful.

I would highlight where things are locked for safety, food safety procedures, and playground equipment safety

I would welcome them into the classroom, show them the individual cubbies, bathrooms and hand washing station. I would show them where the first aid kit is and then take them outside showing them the outdoor space and how it is secure and gated. I would also explain the incident report procedure.
-
I would highlight our safety and disaster plan, talk about drills, and emergency exits.

MemberNovember 18, 2023 at 2:57 amI would highlight that all staff is CPR and First aid certified and that they all have food handler cards as well. In the classroom itself I would highlight our classroom set up and show how we keep the kids safe by the way our furniture is laid out. Showing them and not just talking to them about it.

During a tour of our program, I would emphasize the paramount importance we place on the safety and well-being of every child. Our classrooms are equipped with age-appropriate safety measures, such as childproofing, first aid supplies, and clearly marked emergency exits. Additionally, our staff is vigilant in supervising children during all activities to prevent accidents, and we foster a culture of open communication with parents to address any safety concerns promptly.

MemberNovember 22, 2023 at 3:04 amI would show them our check-in and check-out system and point out that staff members observe the exits. We also have bells or chimes on all the doors and gates to make us aware when one of them is being opened or closed.
-
If I were giving a prospective parent a tour through my program, the safety procedures i would highlight are the first aid protocols so that the families see we have plans in case of emergencies, as well as attendance and building safety protocols to ensure that their child will always be accounted for.

MemberNovember 26, 2023 at 12:56 amcleaning supplies are used often and kept out of reach of children. safety procedures are in plain view on walls ie. fire drill, dipper changing procedure, and cleaning sequel. talk to them about when kids wash hands and how the teacher help them to do so.
