I think the big takeaway from it is to show as many of the different kids in the toys they play with the activities they do and the artwork they look at strung around the classroom. as well as to feel that you see them at equals in your eyes.

WAC 110-300-0160 states that early childcare providers must provide learning opportunities that are culturally/ racially diverse in their curriculums, activities, and materials. That includes things around the classroom that don’t reinforce stereotypes, diverse music, and intervening when biased behavior is displayed. When there is a new child I would have the parents introduce them and or if they’re able to.It would be good to include theyre culture and what there customs are at home

I would welcome a child into my classroom by having a learn about them time during the day where they can share about themselves and their family, like favorite activities, favorite foods, etc.
