The WAC’s are incredibly detailed which is not surprising. They outline and detail each necessary piece of information pivotal to ensuring a safe and educational environment for each child, in the most ethical ways possible. This information will be useful in that it will enhance the foundation I have already built in working with children to provide an even better space for them.

the wacs make alot of sense and to be honest not really anything shocked meto be honest i was educated more on things then i was before so that was helpful the rules will make it easier to work with kids becuase having rules just eleminates the problem of being to gray

Why or why not?1. I discovered that the WACs are very in-depth and specific, but also designed to be easily understood. 110-300-0005 was very helpful in that regard. WACs address everything about licensing, administration, cleaning, safety, curriculum, and more. It takes a lot to be licensed by Washington State. 2. I was surprised to learn that under 110-300-0465, children’s attendance records must be kept for five years. 3. Yes, WACs have shown me why there is a very consistent and strict way we do things at our facility, and help me understand more about language modeling and creating positive relationships with children. I appreciated how clear examples were given in 10-300-0315 about how to speak while enhancing reasoning.

While completing the activity, I discovered that the WACs are very detailed and cover who must be licensed, where care can be provided, and the limits around family and staff situations. I wasn’t surprised by most of the rules, but I didn’t realize how specific the regulations are about who cannot be licensed due to conflicts of interest. The WACs will definitely influence my day-to-day work because they guide how we operate, ensure safety, and help us stay compliant with licensing requirements.
