My best daily practice is to make a to-do list of things that I want to get done and things that I would like to get started on. I like physically crossing out things that I have on my list of tasks for the day. If I have a day that I can’t get to everything, it goes on the top of the list for my to-do list for tomorrow. My golden moment is when I realized that completing everything on that list didn’t always mean your day was a success. You may have had to deal with a parent concern, a sick child, etc and you can give yourself grace and just add it to tomorrows list of things to do.

My best time saving technique is using “little minutes” for example, restocking the bathroom while the littles go potty. Unloading the dishwasher while waiting for the coffee brew.

One of my best time-saving hacks would be to prep art / worksheets the night before. For example, especially with toddlers or younger preschoolers cutting out art pieces so that they are ready or pre-cutting the worksheets so that we can do the lessons without me having to pause. I found this more beneficial to this age group as they tend to stay engaged / focused in the project longer when they aren’t having to wait.

Some of my best time saving hacks in early childhood is simply to teach the children self-help tools! Teach them to put on their own shoes, put away their lunch bags, hang up their coats after recess, etc. The more they can do for themselves, the less I have to do for them and the more empowered and independent they become! Then, I have more time and energy to devote to teaching, planning, and being present with the children and available for those teachable moments!

I like to prep meals the night before or in the morning before opening. If my day gets a little crazy I know meal times will be easier. I try to stay focused on what needs to been completed and not what I want completed

Something that really helps with keeping things moving smoothly for me is having set routines, if you and kids can expect what is coming next it can help with transitions and that can help save time a lot! instead of chasing kids around or spending extra time cleaning up multiple times a day. it helps things move smoothly which saves time and stress!

I feel I am better at time management for work than my personal life. I like to set up time, during moments I know I can be uninterrupted, to create docs for each topic I may be responsible for in my everyday job. I take time to go through to find all information (names, numbers, etc) that I will need for each topic. An example, I am in charge of coordinating buses for field trips, I create a document that includes information I will need for each field trip. We have throughout the year used the document to look up information several times. I have also learned that it is important to pre schedule check in meetings with coworkers. This has saved so much time with communicating information that needs to be addressed and offers a sense of relief knowing there is time set aside and I don’t need to stress about scheduling time because it is already scheduled for the year.

As a teacher, establishing a routine helped me work more smoothly and manage my time better. Having a routine allowed me to repeat it over and over again, which improved my work efficiency. Once I set a schedule, I tried my best to stick to it, but I didn’t try to control everything. More importantly, I felt more at peace, and the children seemed more at peace, too.

Every Monday, I send parents a message outlining the weekly plan and specific activities. Throughout the week, I gather the children’s learning outcomes and send them home. Parents appreciate this transparency, and it also helps me stay accountable and manage my time effectively.

my best time saving hack would be to get stuff done before the kids get up or after they go to bed. This way you can have quality uninterupted time with the kids.

I have learned that planning for the week has helped me prepare. I have totes with activities for Monday- Friday. There I have activities based on lesson planning. Meal planning makes cooking much easier. I plan for the week and ensure that I have all items. I have incorporated schedule and routine. As yes the children learn the routine, this helps them know what is next and transition is much smoother.

My best hack for time saving is for me to have a checklist and prioritizing important wants to basic wants on the checklist. This has helped me to have a less stressful and effective week.
