GuestApril 1, 2025 at 11:44 amAS a staff we made a decision to not have any screen time in our center – the children are here for short amounts of time and they get plenty of screen time at home. We miss some learning opportunities but we hope the children will benefit from the social interactions with each other and the teachers more than the screen time. Having said that if we do need an answer to a question and we know we can’t find it in a book we might use a computer to search for the answer.

GuestApril 2, 2025 at 9:16 pmScreen time is very limited at my childcare because I strongly believe that children should be playing or reading books so that they could use their imagination, instead of staring at a screen. The families I work with also agree.

GuestApril 17, 2025 at 1:12 pmWe do not have screen time in my childcare program on a daily basis. During certain times of year we may watch the Polar Express or the Grinch with the older children.

GuestApril 18, 2025 at 10:31 pmI work at a childcare facility with very young children. There are pretty strict rules around what types of screens we are allowed to be on ourselves around them. We are told not to interact with screen screens in front of children And the only thing tech related the kids are allowed is music without lyrics.

GuestApril 29, 2025 at 4:28 pmAt my previous center, we only used a TV during special occasions like Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. Other than that, just music playing. At my new center, iPads with TV shows is on for transitions such as: bathroom breaks, preparing lunch, and right before nap. I’d honestly be more happy if no screens were used during the day.

GuestMay 1, 2025 at 9:07 pmI dont have a childcare center but if I did I would not allow screen time. If there is any screen time it would be related to an activity.
