GuestMay 18, 2025 at 4:04 amI am Grandmother/Childcare provider for 2 of my grandchildren. I make all the calls when mother, my daughter is gone to work. A total of 9 to 10 hours a day 5 days a week. I also try my best to limit screen time by allowing them time when I need to prepare for eating time or any other needs that call for my attention away from them. My grandson age 4 still naps which I’m happy about because he gets his rest time which we all need. They only watch You tube so they are programmed to push the skip button when possible or I do it when commercials come on. And if they get enticed by fast food commercials oh well, I’m the adult and children are adaptable. They are on my homemade food plan, and I am a big one on reading labels. We have only a few places that we go out to eat which is rare because our diet consists of all organic food. We will be careful to order food made from scratch to avoid any preservatives and sticking as close to the diet they eat at home. We do this mostly to get a break and treat ourselves once in a while. They have had In-n-Out french fries a couple of times but never any other fastfood chain except my granddaughter had Cane’s chicken strips a couple of times.

GuestMay 19, 2025 at 8:32 pmWe follow the guidelines for our state regarding screen time. At most we have a screen running for no more than 20 minutes a day.

GuestMay 19, 2025 at 8:48 pmWe have very little to no time on the screen, during morning centers we will sing to the tablet two to three schools which in our ABC’s phonics song and our fun counting 1-20 and we use our hands as well. That is about all the screen time we get throughout the day.

GuestMay 22, 2025 at 3:23 pmWe have a no screen policy in our program. We are teaching 3-5 year olds. They will get plenty of screen time once they enter school. While they are with us, they are learning to play and interact with peers.

GuestMay 27, 2025 at 4:28 pmScreen time is very limited here. It is used for gross motor if the children cannot go outside due to weather conditions and a few other rare occasions.

GuestMay 27, 2025 at 8:54 pmYes our childcare has screentime, but we limit it to 1 hour of the day. We only put on friendly and safe shows as well for the children, and never have any ads or commercials that advertise anything with food.

GuestMay 30, 2025 at 1:41 pmWe do not allow screen time at our center unless a class has organized a special viewing for a special occasion. We do not allow any student to play on tablets or devices. We believe students get plenty of screen time at home!

GuestJune 3, 2025 at 6:42 pmI don’t work with children yet but what I see in public is so interesting. Every time I go to the store there are always little kids on phones watching YouTube and eating junk food (chips, donuts, candy). So I do think it’s a big problem for young kids to recognize unhealthy habits
