Screen time is rarely used in our preschool unless it is to enhance a lesson. We can show a short video if it helps further understanding on a specific topic. Our students are exposed to less than 30 minutes a week.

There aren’t any rules set in place necessarily, but more of an understanding that we’re going to limit screen time and only use it if it is absolutely necessary. We limit it to educational videos or maybe a short song to help regain attention of the classroom.

Screentime is very very rare in our program. We are predominantly nature based and focusing on connecting to the outside world, however we do on occasion use media as a teaching tool, for books or an educational video, to view nature trail cams from around the world, to check the weather etc. We also are mindful to skip any ads or commercials when participating in screen time.

The facility I currently work at doesn’t allow screen time, but my previous one allowed tv on special occasions like holidays or to go along with a class theme.

There is no screen time in our childcare settings. We only focused on daily activities and outdoor activities.

We do not allow screentime unless it is (1) for the purpose of explaining a topic or (2) for music and dance transitions in a day. I prefer for it to be put on the lesson plan as to the purpose so that even the parents can see or go back to songs for the children at home.

Not so much rules but an understanding that screen time really does not benefit the children. The one I very much will tell the teachers is no screen time before nap time. It wakes up the brain so it would not be beneficial to use when you want your class to relax.

Screen time is rare at my center. I find that keeping the children occupied and interacting with each other makes for a much happier cente.

If children bring a tablet they can only have it at the very end of the day when we are waiting on parent pick up .

We have 30 minutes of screen time that is broken down throughout the day. This is use mainly for google slides or the use of the smart board for educational purposes.

Yes, our screen time is limited and we follow the HeadStart / ECEAP and licensing guidelines. It is used, but in moderation as intructed.
