Yes. When I started teaching in my latest classroom, about 5 years ago, the school provided iPads. I promptly gave the iPads to the 1st grade classroom. We only use the large screen for Mystery Science, books read aloud, so that children can see the words and print, and other science and literacy type related videos as a class. we use electrnic and screen time twice aweek for one so in our site were let kids engage in activity more and do some amazing crafts

At our center we only give the children screen time access when we are using it to read a book. But for the most part kids in the classroom do not use tablets nor computers. We just introduced a Hatch tv where the children are able to do educational activities in them but only for about 10 minutes and it is not available for them to use every day. Probably only 3-4 times a month.

We have VERY rare time in front of the TV. Usually, as a treat around the holidays and there would be no food commercials available during that time.

There are no specific rules at our center regarding screen time. It is usually used for educational purposes.

When we used to have devices in our room they were limited to ten minutes. We will use the tablet for Educational reasons only.

There is not a set rule on screen time, however we are a play based program so not much screen time is used. We will use a screen for some music and movement time.

At my childcare, we really don’t do screen time except once in a while for educational songs or movement videos for the kids. I try to focus more on hands-on activities, play, and interaction instead of having children sit in front of screens for long periods of time. I don’t know how much screen time they get at home so I try to keep it to a minimum.

Our preschool program does not have screen time. The teachers have an iPad that we use for attendance and taking photos of the children to send to parents at the end of the day, but children do not use iPads or computers while in our preschool program.

Every center I’ve worked at we strictly limit screen time. We allow some screen time when it comes with something educational to reinforce it. (Learning about the coral reefs and then watching a Magic School Bus episode about it, etc) Otherwise we don’t allow so.
