When creating a routine I like to start with mealtimes and rest time and build from there. I then post pictures of what the daily routine looks like so the parents and children know what to anticipate throughout the day.

I think every element is very important, but one that stands out to me is the sensory area. Not every child has the opportunity to freely explore different sensory activities in their home environment. This activity is awesome in helping children explore/experiment/ experience many different things in a safe way.

I would go over what is typical in a child their age and discuss the resources available to see if their child needs additional support. I would introduce what a screening is, and how it is beneficial. I would be sure to do all of this in private and take lots of time for them to process their feelings. And above all being respectful and kind.

You will be able to provide activities and materials that help guide the children into the next appropriate milestone according to where there are now.

I do not think that screen time is necessary in the daily routine of childcare. By having lots of interaction with caregivers, toys, and nature children have all they need to develop appropriately.

Having time for open play where you can go around the room and have moments with each student in what they are intested in, and allow them to take the lead.

I would ask if they need help with resources or help making a plan that can help with timely pick ups.

Some of these materials can include dolls, music, and instruments.
