Let the child tell you what they are thinking or feeling, make sure you are actively listening during this time. When they are done speaking offer ways to help them calm themselves through breathing exercises or whatever you feel is appropriate for the type of emotion they are feeling.

Single child crib with a firm mattress and a tight fitting sheet. The child should have no loose objects in the crib including a blanket. He may be placed in a zip up sleep sack that does not restrict his arms and must be placed on his back.

After welcoming the family I would highlight our safety features, our front door has code access only, you must be buzzed into our main office. All children are checked in and out by fingerprint system. Our building is sanitized multiple times per day, our classrooms are swept and mopped at least 3 times a day, bathrooms are fully bleached multiple times a day. Children have access to hand washing sinks and soap at all times.

Have many materials and options available. Allow the child to pick the activity that interests them. While playing with them ask many open ended questions.
