My thoughts on screen time in childcare are to not have it because it is unknown how often it is on at home. It shouldn’t be included in school at all because of what it does to children’s development and brain it can really impact them and there learning.

  • How do you think early learning providers can create a “serve and return” environment in their classrooms? How do you think early learning providers can create a “serve and return” environment in their classrooms?

I think early learning providers can create a serve and return environment in their classrooms by doing a activity like play do, arts and crafts like coloring, drawing, tossing a ball outside that is how early providers can create a serve and return environment in their classrooms and many more.

I would explain that 20 minutes may not seem long to the parent, but it affects the child who is the last to be picked up and the extra staff that need to stay at the facility. The child could feel abandoned and not being consistent could affect child next day or cause child fear to stay or come back. Urgent matters may come up, but being respectful of the school’s regulations and staff’s time is common courtesy and isn’t acceptable for this to be occurring so often. If it continues to be a pattern, matters may have to be taken more seriously. Plus it could be extra charge and could lead to serious matters such as Cps. 2. The big message is that when you include practices in the classroom related to their culture it will show them that they are represented and appreciated there which will also make them want to participate more.Which WACs address diversity and collaboration with families? 110-300-0160, 110-300-0320 addresses diversity while 110-300-0085 addresses collaboration with families.

    1. While researching the WACs and completing the activity I discovered that you need to have paperwork in order for all children injury report, activities, special needs, treatment and permission and making sure parents are up to date on everything of child.
    2. I was surprised by the WACs that almost make it seem like they are another parent because in case of needed medical treatment they can get permission from parent to get them the care necessary.
    3. I can see how the WACs will influence my day-to-day practice in caring for children because I will have to be held to all these standards and responsibilities of any other child in my care.
