Writing out a plan on where to start and points to talk about, can help you not be so nervous and jumble up your words. Make sure you ask for good time and day to talk to them so they aren’t rushed and they make time and are prepared for the conversation. Also, don’t forget to show proof! Make sure when making these observations you write them down so when a parents asks what has made you think the way you do, that you can give them good points so they see where you’re coming from!

You can observe where the children are on their knowledge so you can make lesson plans, activities on how to further educate ALL the children and work with those who need it the most if you see them struggling

I say yes to screen time but under restrictions! I think children should be shown all sorts of the world and how progressive our animation has become! Like watching baby Einstein for only about 15 min, once a week to show the bright colors and animals singing and dancing! You can also use music like miss rachel but be aware of how much they watch! Personally I think it should not exceed over 15 minuets! For the rest of the day can be used for communication, building relationships, those types of interactions so the child can get the best of both worlds.

That could be doing a day dedicated to trucks ! Sitting with the children and talking to them about trucks and how they move, playing cars with them! Sitting with them and communicating with them and showing them cause and effect about the world !

It could effect the child with being non consistent and seeing their friends and even teachers all gone. I would communicate that it is vital to pick up before closing and ask what schedule can we work out or solution to brainstorm to ensure a successful pickup!

- What big messages do the WACs give regarding diversity and collaboration? That each family and their choice in how they raise their children, needs to be respected. That our values of teaching and growing will be in collaboration with families so they can also see their child’s growth.

Point of View
-
Things that influence my thinking are religion, especially how its used in the states and or media, coming from numerous cultural backgrounds, having difficulty in housing or even education. I absolutely agree with the statement that when you’re experienced in life and walk in others’ shoes, you can see their point of view and help them find a solution. A Lot of people are unwelcoming to others whose values and/or lifestyles are different from what they know. That is why it is so vital to be supportive and open about different backgrounds and celebrate all the differences. Then teaching a welcomed open minded curriculum can keep the children’s mind open as well.

1. What I discovered about the WAC’s was there are many steps to complete before even going into the classroom, there was nothing really new I had learned, just a recap of how important it is to have all your documents for an early childhood education setting.
2. I can see how the WAC’s impact my day to day activities and relationships with the children and their families for sure! It clarifies the importance of confidentiality and to go through all required licensing/training.
