I do not think screen time is needed or should be put for children. They can watch things at home but here at childcare they are here to learn but also have fun in ways that don’t and shouldn’t include screen time.

I think a serve and return environment can be made for example, if a child is deeply focusing on something and you can bring attention to that and interest yourself in what that child is interested in, that will help you learn and understand a childs needs or interests. For return you can encourage a child, let them know and make them feel that their interests and needs are understood.

Ask why this is continuing to happen and if there is anyone else that is able to pick her child up at the time theyre supposed to be picked up. Explain to her that it is not fair to the staff that they have to stay after hours with their child, and most importantly that this can effect her child since they are the last ones to leave; it might make them feel confused and forgotten. Let her know that this can not happen again or else their will be consequences, and serious actions might have to be taken.

1. Which WACs address diversity and collaboration with families? 110-300-0160, 110-300-0320 addresses diversity while 110-300-0085 addresses collaboration with families.
2. What big messages do the WACs give regarding diversity and collaboration? The big message is that when you include practices in the classroom related to their culture it will show them that they are represented and appreciated there which will also make them want to participate more.

What I discovered was that WACs provides a variety of resources for educators to assist with early childhood education in a variety of forms which included activities that we can use in the classrooms, guidelines on safety and health, also it provided licensing specification. I was not surprised with any of the WACs as of now, but I am sure that a long the way when I go over them again I will. I can see how the WACs will influence my day to day practice in caring for children because I know that whenever I am not sure of something that I need I can also look into that and it will help.
