I would highlight how often we clean and sanitize things, the procedures we go through to maintain a safe environment, and how often we reevaluate.

Ask meaningful questions to encourage conversation about a topic instead of just providing the facts.

Have all the information, and evidence ready to show the parent. Have resources available to aid the family in figuring out next steps. keep information confidential.

Observing and documenting a child’s development helps providers create appropriate activities to encourage growth.

I think parents probably expect their child in childcare to be doing active things, learning, and making friends rather than having screen time. Maybe the occasional screen could be used for some activities and for older kids but I don’t think it’s necessary or beneficial to rely on screens.

You can make a point to show interest in what each child is focusing on or playing with, and talk to them about it.

WAC 110-300-0055 states that families must be informed and involved with developmental screenings of their children.

WACs message overall is the diversity and culture must be apart of the early childhood experience and families should not be made to conform due to their cultural differences.
