This wasn’t my first time exploring the WAC’s, but it was helpful to put the WAC’s into my own words to understand how they will be implemented in my daycare.

I can see how it will influence my day because it helps me to know how to deal with everyday situations in the classroom. For example the training requirements mean that I have trainings on how to deal with blood and bodily fluids. It means that I don’t question how I am going to deal with it when it happens. I already know.

1. What I discovered about WACs while completing my activity is that the WACs were actually a lot more easily digestible than I thought they would be. I was shocked to see how easy it was to find the information I was looking for. 2. I don’t think I was specifically shocked by any of the WACs, perhaps at most I was shocked at just how detailed each WAC was. 3. I can definitely see how WACs can and will affect my day to day while dealing with kids. Each WAC has a ton of information regarding things that will be important in a day to day, such as keeping records of children you’re working with.

1. What did you discover about the WACs while completing the activity? i feel that most of the stuff was expected. Maybe it’s because this isn’t my first time reading it. I feel that a lot of it was basic. some things didn’t make sense till the second time around. like all the licenses and certificate, you have to have as well as the ones you have to renew every year or so. As well as making sure the area the Children will be playing in is safe and to get down on their level and kind think like them to see what trouble they will get themselves into, lol.
2. Were you surprised by any of the WACs? Not really like i said this isn’t my first time reading them. which kind of suck because I don’t have much to say about it.
3. Can you see how the WACs will influence your day-to-day practice in caring for children? Why or why not? I can definitely see how it will influence my day-to-day practice in caring for children. it will definitely keep me on my toes.

I learned a lot from the WACs! I was not surprised by any of the WACs but I did enjoy learning details about all the records that need to be updated and the in-service training. Having access to the WACs will help me keep the classroom a high-quality and safe environment for the children.

It helps to give insight as what to prioritize. as well as specific terms and how to categorize events and such as while caring for children. a good document to have so able to reference later on if need be, defines terms that are helpful for day to day.

I found the WACs to be very informative and thorough and a succinct way to always have the foundational rules, regulations, and quality standard available. I will definitely use the WACs in my day to day practice as they are the basis for which the facilities I work at run on and help to ensure a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the growth and development of the children.

I am very surprised. There are many recourses that we as workers are able to utilize to provide proper care. I can see how this will influence my day to day life on the job because I can refer to the WAC as a reference for things I am unsure about and I can also use it as a guide.

I realized there was a lot more regulations and restrictions than I had originally thought. It will change my day-to-day actions as I will make sure to abide by them all and be the best childcare provider I can be.

I am very familiar with the WACs as I have worked in childcare as an assistant for many years. I think they are very important and detailed and fairly straightforward; I am not surprised by any of the content. I absolutely see how the WAC is helpful in day-to-day care for the children under my care.

I didn’t discover anything I wasn’t expecting with the WACs activity I also wasn’t surprised by anything. The WACs seem very thorough and seem to cover all aspects of childcare and safety. They seemed pretty straight forward but it was helpful to know that if I have any questions about a specific aspect of childcare I can find it in the guidebook. The WAC is complete with safety information as well as general childcare expectations that should be a model for every decision make day to day when it comes to children. There’s never a time when a child’s well being is not the top priority so the WAC influences everything.

Knowledge like these are simple and should be known to anyone who is working in childcare. These are the basics and we should all understand and know how to do them.

There is a lot to know in order to establish a child care facility and stay on top of codes, as well as classes. I have glanced over the WAC’s before, but not in detail. The WAC’s do lay out a foundation of how child care should function.

I learned a lot from the WAC. Much of it was things to be expected in a daycare, but there were also a lot of things that were helpful to learn and will have a huge impact on working in childcare. It was also very easy to read and understand unlike other places I’ve worked at.
